La Trobe University is currently recruiting a new Optus Cybersecurity Chair and will launch two Optus-funded cybersecurity scholarships. The $15,000 three-year scholarships will be awarded to the best and brightest candidates pursuing studies in either the undergraduate Bachelor of Cybersecurity or postgraduate Master of Cybersecurity.

The strategic alliance includes partnering on the Optus Cyber Security Experience, an online cyber education program for secondary schools, TAFE and universities. The two organisations will also invest up to $8M to support a high-tech campus dubbed “Digital University of the Future” and will work on a $150M sports precinct.
Optus Business also announced a security partnership with Macquarie University in 2016, which included a $10M Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub to offer consultancy services, degree programs and short professional courses, as well as conducting research.
